The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
