Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
