Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
