Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
