Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
