3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
