Samood rejected the warning. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Hath the admonition been laid upon him from amongst us! Aye! he is a liar insolent. 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn. 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40
