The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
