And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
