Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
