The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
