And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
