And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults). 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 Let those who dispute Our signs know that there is no way of escape for them. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs. 43
