Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
