Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
