The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
