The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
