The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
