And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
