Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Lo! We have given thee (O Muhammad) a signal victory, 1 That God may save you from earlier and subsequent blames, and complete His favours on you, and guide you on the straight path, 2 And so that Allah may provide you a great help. 3 He it is Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they might increase belief unto their belief. And Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth and Allah is ever Knowing, Wise. 4 And that He may admit men and women who believe into gardens with rivers running by, to live for ever there, and absolve their evil, -- This, in the sight of God, will be the great fulfilment -- 5 (He also did this) to chastise the hypocrites, both men and women, and those who associate others in His Divinity, both men and women, and who harbour evil thoughts about Allah. They shall be afflicted with misfortune, Allah is wroth with them. He has laid His curse upon them and has prepared for them Hell. What an evil end! 6 To Allah belong the legions of the heavens and the earth. Allah is Most Mighty, Most Wise. 7 Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner 8 In order that you, O people, may accept faith in Allah and His Noble Messenger, and honour and revere the Noble Messenger; and may say the Purity of Allah, morning and evening. (To honour the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him – is part of faith. To disrespect him is blasphemy.) 9 Verily those who plight their fealty to thee do no less than plight their fealty to Allah: the Hand of Allah is over their hands: then any one who violates his oath, does so to the harm of his own soul, and any one who fulfils what he has covenanted with Allah,- Allah will soon grant him a great Reward. 10
