Thamud denied the warning 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 They shall send the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch thou them and keep patience. 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 Indeed We sent a shower of stones upon them, except the family of Lut; We rescued them before dawn. 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 Even his guests they had solicited of him; so We obliterated their eyes, saying, 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 40
