Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He could destroy them for what they earned; but He pardons much. 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 Those who defend themselves after they have been wronged cannot be held blameworthy, 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
