Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
