Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
