Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 Warn the men. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor used to feed the needy." 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were startled donkeys - 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
