Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

There is not a region to which We sent a prophet and did not inflict upon its people adversity and hardship so that they may submit. 94 Then We gave them good in the place of evil until they became many and said: Distress and happiness did indeed befall our fathers. Then We took them by surprise while they did not perceive. 95 Yet had the peoples of the cities believed and been godfearing, We would have opened upon them blessings from heaven and earth; but they cried lies, and so We seized them for what they earned. 96 Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? 97 Or, do they feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them in the forenoon while they are at play? 98 Do they feel secure against God's devising? No one feels secure against God's devising except for those doomed to ruin. 99
