[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 and ease my task for me, 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Increase through him my strength 31 And let him share my task, 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 And remember You much. 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
