The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
