The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by this city - 1 this land in which thou art free to dwell 2 And [by] the father and that which was born [of him], 3 We created the human in fatigue. 4 What, does he think none has power over him, 5 He saith: I have wasted riches plenteous. 6 Does he think that none has observed him? 7 Did We not assign unto him two eyes 8 And a tongue and two lips, 9 and guided him on the two paths (of good and evil)? 10 Yet, he has not entered into Aqaba 11 And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is? 12 It is the setting free of a slave 13 or giving food on a day of hunger 14 An orphan near of kin, 15 or to a needy person in distress; 16 Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion. 17 Those are the Companions of the Right. 18 But those who disbelieve in Our verses, they are the Companions of the Left, 19 On them is fire closed over. 20
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
