The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Rise up and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 purify your garments; 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
