Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
