Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 and the severally severing 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
