Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24
Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth after its (former) residents that if We please We would afflict them on account of their faults and set a seal on their hearts so they would not hear. 100 To those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We relate to you - there had indeed come Messengers with clear proofs, but they would not believe what they had once rejected as false. Thus it is that Allah seals the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 And We found most of them not true to their words; and indeed We found most of them disobedient. 102 Then after them, We sent Moosa with our signs to Firaun and his court members, but they did injustice to those signs; therefore see what sort of fate befell the mischievous! 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are of the truthful ones. 106 Thereupon Moses threw his rod, and suddenly it was a veritable serpent. 107 Then he drew out his hand and it was luminous to the onlookers. 108
