[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
