Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
