O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
