Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
