The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
