The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
