Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 Thamud, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 He plunged the villages 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
