The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
