Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
