Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains: 45 [having been received with the greeting,] "Enter here in peace, secure!" 46 And We will root out whatever of rancor is in their breasts-- (they shall be) as brethren, on raised couches, face to face. 47 No fatigue will touch them nor will they be expelled therefrom." 48 ۞ Declare (O Muhammad SAW) unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful. 49 and that My punishment is a painful one. 50 Tell them about the guests of Abraham. 51 When they came to Abraham they said: "Peace be upon you!" He replied: "Indeed we feel afraid of you." 52 They replied, "Do not be afraid. We have brought you the glad news of (the birth) of a learned son". 53 Said he: "Do you give me this glad tiding despite the fact that old age has overtaken me? Of what [strange thing,] then, are you giving me a tiding!" 54 They said: "The good tiding we give you is of truth. Do not, therefore, be of those who despair." 55 He said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord but the erring ones? 56 He added: "What is your errand O sent ones?" 57 They said: verily we have been sent unto a people guilty 58 “Except the family of Lut; we shall rescue all of them.” 59 “Except his wife – we have decided that she is of those who will stay behind.” 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
