۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth. 60 It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, 61 Let not Satan hinder you (from believing in the Hour), for surely he is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way." 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
