The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and a few from later times. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 In shade long-extended, 30 near to flowing water 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
