By the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
