Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 Till a limit known? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
