Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
