The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
