The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a mighty Day. 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On thrones, watching. 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
